There's No Place Like Home

Once a year I get away from it all
Into the mountains where I receive not a call

The grass is green and water clear
Modern technology is never near

Thunder rolls and the lightning does strike
It sticks in your mind like riding a bike

This place is magical unlike home
People are few and the animals roam

A week in the mountains covered with grime
I look forward to showering in due time

The day finally comes when we load up and go
Home where it’s hot and there is no snow

The mountains are grand and do clear my mind
Yet I’m anxious for when I see more of my kind

Although the place is the same I appreciate more
All the amenities I need just like a store
