Urban Legend

There are many things that go bump in the night
They try and cause children a great deal of fright

They live in your closet and under your bed
Yet your parents always say it's just in your head

Some may say urban legends aren't real
While others may think they're a really big deal

After watching Paranormal Activity 3
I know that Bloody Mary is not the legend for me

These stories are filled with horror and blood
And usually result in the death of the "stud"

Urban legends are told worldwide
And often include someone who's died

They travel the world by word of mouth
That's how they made it from the north to the south

So always remember when a legend is told
Oral tradition helped it unfold

Here is my rendition of an urban legend.

After a long day of traveling, Bill and Tami decided to check into a hotel. Both Bill and Tami were very tired when they got into their room, so they both headed straight to bed. After laying in bed for a little while they started talking to each other. They both began to realize that the room had a foul smell to it, but being as tired as they were, they decided to go to bed and worry about the smell in the morning. When they woke up in the next day, the room still smelled so they decided to call the front desk. Some of the hotel staff members came to the room to investigate. After searching the room for awhile for the source of the smell, the hotel workers finally found the cause. The smell was coming from a rotting body that had been stuffed in the box springs. Bill and Tami had spent the night sleeping on the rotting corpse. The hotel has since gone out of business due to the incident, and the murderer was never found.
